1 1/2 Years Old!

We took KJ to Primary children's today for his check-up, he is doing very well. He weighs 24.5 lbs, and is 33 inches long. He was big enough they tried to weigh him and measure him on the bigger people equipment, but he didn't like any of the measuring that was going on. He is turning into such the big boy. He goes to nursery all by himself, he could careless that we are not there with him. He can say tons of words, and phrases his newest additions is eyes, and football. and just to show you how big he is getting I got some pictures of him helping me around grandma Walkers house. We all hate cleaning toilets, but to a 1 1/2 year old it is a blast.

We also took an adventure to the game center at BYU and went bowling, KJ loved it for the first 4 frames, then he saw all the other games in the center.

To finish off this week we have finally finished all the work for the adoption process and will be approved this week to be on the waiting list to wait for another little one. Also for those wondering we still haven't moved, but lenders are still working on paperwork for the buyer, which apparently in this economy it now takes an eternity to get approved.

We hate peanuts

So as most people know KJ can't eat a lot of food because he has Galactasemia, which is a genetic disease that he can't out grow. Then at a couple months old he had an allergic reaction to soy, so now that is off limits. Now yesterday we are quite sure that he had an allergic reaction to peanuts from peanut butter, it happened a week ago, so I tried it again yesterday when I was eating a peanut butter sandwich and sure enough it happened again. Everything he touched on his body turned red with white bumps that looked like mosquito bites. I had never seen anything like it, it happened with in a matter of seconds from contact with it. I took some picutres, but peanut butter was on the lens so it is hard to truly see, but if you blow up the picture by clicking on it you will see some of the bumps around both eyes. It literally spread across his fingers, throat, cheeks, and eyes. What an adventure it was this week, he doesn't even eat the actual bread and peanut butter, he just touches it with his mouth and fingers, I can't imagine what would happen if he actually liked bread and ate a bite of the sandwich.

Happy New Year

Happy 2009! We had a great new years eve. Darrell and KJ played video games, then KJ went to bed at 8:30pm, then Darrell and I played board games until midnight. Yes, I actually made it. We are excited for the new year and the challenges, and blessings it will bring, as we start a new job in August, finish the adoption process, and maybe one day move out of our house. We hope all you have a great new year with lots of fun adventures. We did also enjoy some sledding with Gary and Angie and kids this past week. Thanks for planning the party.

Christmas Time

Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and has a Happy New Year. We had a great christmas. KJ loved the tree, lights, and gifts. His first reaction to the gifts under the tree was Wo. He started unwrapping but then got bored of his own, so he helped us with ours. We all got some great gifts, and enjoyed relaxing and spending time with family. Here are some pictures to enjoy.

Our Cutie

Well life has been a bit crazy. We haven't moved yet because of finacing issues with the buyer, but apparently the deal is not dead yet, so we are hoping for the best. So right now we are somewhat living out of boxes. So besides that we took KJ on a train ride to the BYU game at the energy solutions arena, then to see the lights. He really loved the ride, and running around to see the lights. Then we put up the christmas tree since we haven't moved yet. KJ loves to touch it. It is a good thing we don't have any ornaments on it since they are in storage, otherwise they wouldn't even be on the tree because KJ would take them off. We didn't really get any good pictures from all these events but, here are some other cute ones of KJ. KJ has learned to climb our counter dining table and chairs and play on the table. Then he found the fake poinsetta.

Thanksgiving/Black Friday

We had a great thanksgiving. It started off with some Turkey Bowl. Darrell played with his young men and elder's quorum. KJ wanted to be in the action to, he also played on the playground and watched from there. Then we had some great food at Grandma Mangums house.

On Friday Darrell got up and did some early morning shopping with Brian. We got a great deal on a new dining table and 8 chairs valued at about $1200 and we got it for $500. The worst part was the 5 hours to assemble it.

While Darrell was shopping KJ got up and had a bath. He only let me put his diaper on, then he found his boots and was pretty persistant about having them put on.

Later friday evening we had dinner with Summer, KJ's birthmother. She was in town with her husband and little girl for a wedding. KJ loved her.

New Everything!!

Well we are very excited for our new changes that will be taking place. We are under contract with our home. So if all financing goes through we will be moving to Mom and Dads while our new home is being built. To top it all off, Darrell has his new dream job starting the school year 2009-2010. He got the Head track and cross country coach job with health and history at Maple Mountain High School. For those that don't know it is a brand new school in spanish fork, and alot of his kids at the junior high will be going there. He is very excited for the new challenge and new learning experience. Here is his new track with 8 lanes, and a great view.

We also enjoyed the football game yesterday. We cheered for the cougars but we knew utah would win. Here is KJ in his cougar, utah gear.

Basketball, and A Growing Vocabulary

KJ is very much a boy. Thanks to Grandma Walker we get to take KJ to BYU Basketball. He is in heaven when we get there. There are balls, dancing, and hotdogs (which he would eat if I new what was in it.) Just this week KJ has learned how to say basketball, but you have to be listening to his conversation to get it because he won't show off for you when you ask, but it is really cute. In regards to hotdogs it is another favorite word to say, and definitely his favorite food, he would eat it all day if you let him. Then there is dancing, he has quite the moves for a 15 1/2 month old.

KJ is turning into quite the chatterbox and there are some words we actually understand. His lattest and greatest so far is please. You ask him to say please and he will rub his belly with both hands in circles and say please. He has also learned to say cheese, thanks to the world of picture taking were everyone says say cheese. This is where he picked that word up because he doesn't know what cheese even is. He also has a favorite seat in the house, that is the stairs where he can watch tv from them, so we found him one day doing some funny things from the stairs while eating an apple.
Here are some other cute pictures

Play Doh

We had a great Halloween, and one thing KJ got was play doh so we have been getting it out and playing with it. We picked up a couple of tools to use with it.

Here are some pictures of one of KJ's favorite things to do, climb. He pulled himself up and then put his feet through the holes, it was to cute so I had to take pictures.

Halloween/Fall

We went shopping the other day to get KJ warm clothes for the fall and winter and we found these gloves that he tried on.

A great thing about fall is the apples. We bought a whole bag full from the red barn in santaquin, and KJ really enjoys them. He is even pretty good at eating the apple with only 4 teeth.

A great part about Fall and Halloween is the pumpkins, so we took KJ to get some. He sure did have a lot to say about the pumpkins and was extremely excited to bring them home.

We found a great costume for KJ at target. Our little man is going to be Yoda. We dressed him in it yesterday and took him with us to the Jr high halloween dance. He was a big hit, and he absolutely loved to dance.
